We Know the Territory.

Our territory is the COASTAL region of South Carolina we call the “Lowcountry”.

Featuring Charleston Film Locations – The brilliantly preserved modern city of European, Early American, Antebellum, Victorian, Renaissance Revival & every period of American architecture – closely surrounded by easily accessible oak – alleyed plantations, pristine white – duned beaches, primitively stunning cypress & tupelo swamps, and marsh-lined rivers fronted with rows of old homes with grassy yards & piers reminiscent of Cape Cod. Charleston seen as a region is so much more than the beautiful classic homes & public buildings, cobblestone streets, & moss-laden majestic oaks you may have imagined Charleston to be. Charleston is where several climatological and foliage zones collide – giving the region a unique temperate, old south, & subtropical look – all within easy walking or driving distance from your lodging every day.

In The Charleston Region, you can be virtually anywhere any season most of the year. At its center the city of Charleston and its international airport are bordered by 2000 square miles of the broadest topographical scope of landscape, foliage, and architecture in America – bar none. We can look like Africa, any American era, the Caribbean, or SE Asia – which is why The Notebook, Dear John, The Patriot, Cold Mountain, all 3 North & South’s, Scarlett, Queen, Prince of Tides, Bagger Vance, Ace Ventura When Nature Calls, Jackal, Die Hard With A Vengeance, Major League III, White Squall, Paradise, Swamp Thing, and Separate But Equal were totally or partially filmed in Charleston. In Beaufort (60 miles south) all of The Big Chill, most of Forrest Gump and Something To Talk About, and large portions of The Jungle Book and GI Jane filmed.

Charleston is 65 plantations, 7 beaches, breathtaking cypress swamps, world class golf, intimate city courtyards & gardens as well as the 1000’s of acres of Plantation Gardens and structures of Middleton Place, Cypress Gardens, Boone Hall and Magnolia Gardens, and dozens of our select private Plantation Estate properties & exquisite grounds.

Charleston is our home for many generations… Lifetime relationships with Charlestonians permits us to get you entrée into our special part of the world where we have exclusive access to areas and properties otherwise unknown, unseen, and unavailable as well as unbelievable!

The Film Industry – 30 years of location scouting and management services has taught us that our most important duty is to make your every production day trouble free allowing you to create.

Charleston Will Surpass Your Expectations – You will be taken aback by the diversity on every block. Let me count the shoots in which a photographer, art director, & client have scouted Charleston thoroughly and began shooting the following day intent upon shooting throughout the city — who never moved from their morning location. Everywhere lie cobblestone, brick streets & alleys, early American mansion estates with magical gardens, 18th Century buildings, riverfront parks, slate side walks fronting pastel muted Etruscan, multi-colored stucco walls, galleries, long-established antique shops, & quaint cafés.

15 miles from any Charleston Hotel are – coastal deltas, rivers, plantations, dune-lined sandy beaches, & cypress swamps. Charleston’s intermediate and outer reaches (25 to 50 minutes from hotels) include vast rural and agricultural lands, lakes, scenic old towns, 19th century villages, & wildlife filled national forests.

We have access to isolated private beaches, including a 3 mile long white sea shell lined beach on an Edisto Island property where many sequences of The Patriot, Cold Mountain, and Ace Ventura When Nature Calls (African village and jungle sequences) were filmed.

Kiawah Island’s world famous Ocean Course as well as nearly 50 other courses – including many other world class courses – all lie within 10 to 40 minutes from your hotel easily in reach of production.

Charleston’s homes and public buildings represent every period of American Architecture. We look a lot like many places, but no other place resembles us.
